This section is provided as a resource tool for the parents of The Academy. We are very grateful to all of our parents for the support they give us all year long and for entrusting their children to The Academy.
Drop Off Procedures
DROP OFF
All students in grades Pre-K 3 through 8th should be dropped off beginning at 8:15 am and not after 8:30 am. All cars are to drive through the driveway to the car line that is coned off just past the convent. Please note that the school and church driveways are 10 mph zones. Any student who arrives after 8:30 am should be dropped off at the main entrance.
If you are dropping off your children in Grades Pre-K 3 to 8, please continue in this car line to the Parish Hall doors. Please have your children come into the building through the Parish Hall doors. Students will be greeted by a member of our staff and will then line up in the gym. As a school we begin the day with morning prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Pre-K 1 and Pre-K 2 parents will park in the back parking lot and walk to the playground door beginning no earlier than 8:15 am (walk between the church and parish hall to the white fenced area. Go to the door in the fenced area).
Late arrivals are not to park in the fire zone to drop off. Please park in the side or back parking lots and escort your child to the main entrance behind. Students should ring the bell and will be greeted by a member of the Academy staff and escorted to class.
DISMISSAL
Dismissal is at 2:45pm, if you are driving your child home, please drive to the back parking lot and park facing New Providence High School. Please DO NOT park in between the cones. Grades K through 8 are dismissed through the gym doors. Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 students are picked up from the Parish hall doors. Pre-K 1 and Pre-K 2 students are picked up from the same playground door they were dropped off at. Please pick up your child and proceed to your car to clear the area. Please make sure that your child is accompanied by an adult in the parking lot as they walk to their car. This way our teachers can identify which students remain. Students that are not picked up by 2:55pm will be sent to aftercare (there is a $20 per hour charge plus the $75 one-time registration fee). If you know you are going to be late please call the main office and/or reach out to your child’s teacher. Thank you for your cooperation.
